KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has recorded that nine out of 144 financing (multifinance) companies have yet to meet the minimum equity requirement of IDR 100 billion, a deadline set for the end of July 2026.

Agusman, the OJK’s Chief Executive for the Supervision of Financing Companies, Venture Capital Companies, Microfinance Institutions, and Other Financial Services Institutions (PVML), stated that the authority continues to take necessary measures to encourage these nine companies to fulfill their minimum equity obligations.

"All of these financing companies have submitted action plans to the OJK outlining the steps they will take to meet the minimum equity requirement," Agusman revealed during the OJK Board of Commissioners' monthly meeting press conference on Monday (September 7, 2026).

Agusman explained that the measures to meet the minimum equity requirement include capital injections from existing shareholders, seeking strategic investors, or pursuing mergers.

Notably, the number of companies failing to meet the requirement has increased by one compared to the previous month, when eight out of 144 financing companies were in this position.

Regarding industry performance, the OJK recorded that financing receivables for multifinance companies reached IDR 513.05 trillion as of July 2026. This figure represents a year-on-year growth of 2.01%.

Meanwhile, the gross Non-Performing Financing (NPF) ratio for financing companies stood at 3.03% as of July 2026. This figure indicates a deterioration compared to the previous month's level of 3.01%.
