KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. The multifinance industry's productive financing performance was under pressure as of May 2026. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) recorded that multifinance productive financing disbursement as of May 2026 reached IDR 242.08 trillion.
"The value contracted by 1.97% compared to the same period the previous year," said Agusman, Chief Executive for Supervision of Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Companies, Microfinance Institutions, and Other Financial Services Institutions, in a written answer sheet to the OJK's RDK (Regional Financial Report) on Friday (July 10, 2026).
Agusman stated that productive financing accounted for 44.57% of total multifinance financing as of May 2026. Despite the pressure, he estimated that there is still room for positive growth for productive financing in the future, in line with the financing needs of this sector.
Meanwhile, the OJK stated that multifinance companies face a number of challenges in channeling financing to the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. Agusman stated that one of the challenges is strengthening debtor credit quality.
"Furthermore, risk management must be in line with the principles of prudence and consumer protection," he said.
Therefore, Agusman explained that multifinance companies need to continuously strengthen their credit assessment, governance, and risk management capacities. This way, financing disbursement to MSMEs can grow healthily and sustainably.
Regarding overall performance, the total financing value of the multifinance industry reached IDR 513.19 trillion as of May 2026, a 1.71% increase compared to the same period last year.
The gross non-performing financing (NPF) of financing companies as of May 2026 was 3.06%. This figure represents a decline, or increase, compared to the previous month's position of 2.89%.
