KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT Wahana Ottomitra Multiartha Tbk (WOM Finance) is strengthening its Sharia-compliant financing expansion in line with the Financial Services Authority (OJK)'s push to expand financing access for MSMEs and the unbanked.
The Director of WOM Finance stated that his company fully supports the OJK's initiative as it aligns with efforts to increase national financial inclusion.
"MSMEs are the driving force of the country's economy. Therefore, we have prepared a special strategy, including launching a service financing product using the Ijarah Muntahiyyah Bit Tamlik (IMBT) contract to reach MSMEs and the unbanked," he told Kontan on Friday (11/14/2025).
In line with its development plan, WOM Finance is also preparing a product diversification strategy to expand its Sharia-compliant financing segment. In addition to its precious metal product MASKu and Hajj Portion Financing Services HajiKu, WOM Finance is also preparing to launch Sharia-compliant service financing based on the IMBT contract.
In terms of risk mitigation, the company ensures that it operates with prudential principles, Sharia compliance monitoring, and sustainable risk management to ensure that expansion remains aligned with the company's objectives.
As of the third quarter of 2025, WOM Finance has disbursed Rp 151 billion in Sharia financing. The Sharia New Motorcycle segment is the largest contributor to this disbursement. Currently, Sharia-based financing contributes approximately 3.5% to the company's total financing portfolio as of the end of September 2025.
Previously, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) stated that it continues to strive to encourage the development of the Sharia financial industry to further reach all levels of society, including the MSME segment and communities underserved by formal financial institutions.
