KONTAN.co.id - Jakarta. The 2024 GIIAS event was present amid the sluggish automotive market conditions, but Astra Financial was still optimistic that targeting transactions of Rp 2.8 trillion. The transaction target is the same as the transaction achievement at GIIAS 2023.

"We remain optimistic that in GIIAS 2024 this can record or at least the same as last year's transactions of Rp 2.8 trillion," said Suparno Djasmin, Director of In Charge Astra Financial 1, at the Astra Financial Booth, Wednesday (7/17).

Based on the Indonesian Automotive Vehicle Association (Gaikindo) data, car sales still declined until May 2024. Wholesales car sales during January-May 2024 were recorded at 334,969 units, down 21% on an annual basis from 423,771 units compared to the same period last year.

Retail sales also declined to 361,698 units, down 14.4% yoy from 422,514. Car leasing companies under Astra Financial namely Astra Credit Companies (ACC) and PT Toyota Astra Financial Services (TAF) also set conservative targets because of the challenges of the automotive industry this year

Related to the Astra Credit Companies (ACC) Vehicle Order Letter (ACC) recorded 4,900 in GIIAS in 2023. For this year SPK is expected not to be too far from the achievement of the previous year's SPK. ACC targets to reach 5,000 vehicles.
