Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has investigated PT Sarana Majukan Ekonomi Finance, previously known as PT Indosurya Inti Finance, in the aftermath of the default case on the Savings and Loans Cooperative or KSP Indosurya.

Chief Executive for Insurance, Underwriting and Pension Fund Supervisors concurrently serving as a Member of the OJK Board of Commissioners Ogi Prastomiyono said the supervisors carry out intensive supervision of the business of the KSP Indosurya subsidiary.

His party took the necessary supervisory actions related to the Indosurya KSP problem including the Controlling Shareholder (PSP) Hendry Surya.

"The supervisor has taken firm action by asking the directors, commissioners and shareholders to take corrective action as a whole, which includes absorbing the application of risk management and good governance for the company in the activities carried out by the company," said Ogi in a press conference, Tuesday (28/2/2023).

Ogi said that in general PT Sarana Majukan Ekonomi Finance had taken corrective steps. However, he continued, currently it is still under intensive monitoring regarding the progress of ongoing improvement measures.

The KSP Indosurya case is said to be the biggest fraud case in Indonesia. The reason is that this case harmed as many as 23,000 customers and the total value reached IDR 106 trillion.

The case involving Henry Surya as the boss of KSP Indosurya has been processed since the first report to the Bareskrim Polri in 2020.

The customer was getting frustrated because he received a notification from KSP Indosurya that his deposit money could not be disbursed. The pretext of the corporation is that it can still be disbursed within a period of 6 months to 4 years according to the nominal asset under management (AUM).

The cooperative even invited customers to meet with cooperative parties, and as a result of that meeting, customers were given the desired payment options.

The case did not stop there, the aggrieved customer complained to the DPR RI until the Ministry of Cooperatives was summoned regarding the KSP Indosurya case.
