KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. The financing company PT Batavia Prosperindo Finance Indonesia Tbk (BPFI) officially changed its name to PT Woori Finance Indonesia Tbk. The company which is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange continues to use the BPFI stock code. This multi-finance company announced a name change on 7 September 2022 after the sale of BPFI shares by the previous controller, PT Batavia Prosperindo Internasional Tbk (BPII). Batavia Finance officially changed owners after a stock transaction took place on August 31 last. This transaction triggered the change of controller of Batavia Finance from previously Batavia Prosperindo Internasional to Woori Card Co Ltd. This transaction involved 1.66 billion shares or the equivalent of 62.03% of BPFI's paid-in capital. The sale consisted of 1.36 billion shares at Rp 655 per share and 297.46 million shares at Rp 654 per share. Based on the records of the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) as of September 14, Woori Card holds 82.03% of Woori Finance's shares. Meanwhile, Batavia Prosperindo Internasional still owns 12.18% of Woori Finance's shares. For your information, Woori Finance recorded revenue of Rp 134.18 billion in the first half of this year. The company's revenue fell 8.48 percent compared to the same period last year of Rp 146.61 billion. Despite the decline in revenue, Woori Finance's profit as of June 2022 shot up 70.23 percent to Rp 26.71 billion from the first half of last year of Rp 15.69 billion. The increase in BPFI's profit was mainly supported by a 42% decrease in financial expenses from the previous Rp 30.39 billion to Rp 17.57 billion.
