Mandala Finance Distributes Rp 1.4 Trillion in Financing for the First Quarter

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT Mandala Multifinance Tbk succeeded in disbursing financing in the first quarter of 2022 amounting to Rp 1.4 trillion.

Mandala Finance Business Director Christel Lasmana explained that this was encouraged by the relaxation of PPKM, the high adoption of booster vaccines, and the economic growth rate which rose significantly in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021.

"We are optimistic that the company can be on track to close 2022 at Rp 6.8 trillion," said Christel to kontan.co.id, Monday (18/4).

This year, the multi-finance industry was also given an extension of relaxation. One of them, the government's Luxury Goods Sales Tax Incentive (PPnBM) for new cars in 2021, which succeeded in boosting sales, was also extended by the government in 2022.

Responding to this, Christel conveyed, basically the relaxation of PPnBM which was extended by the government until September 2022 was more encouraging to increase purchases of motorized vehicles that fall into the luxury goods category, mostly in the car category.

"Incidentally, Mandala has not provided car financing, so it has not had an impact on our business," he said.

In maintaining financing this year, Mandala Finance has implemented a main strategy, namely by focusing on improving the quality of human resources and digitizing in various lines through the Mantis application. "So we can reach more Indonesian people and serve them better," added Christel.

He also admitted that the company had optimized this restructuring policy in 2020 and 2021 to accommodate the needs of customers affected by the pandemic, together with them maintaining good loan quality in difficult conditions.

"And we are grateful that along with positive developments in economic conditions, the better the results of the government's handling of the pandemic, we can also see the positive effects on the lives of our customers," he continued.

So according to him, in 2022 there will be no restructured company portfolios, and at the same time, the company continues to improve the quality of screening in the analysis process of submitting financing applications for prospective customers, to ensure that it provides financing to the right customers.
