NPF finance continues to experience a downward trend

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. In the midst of declining cases of the Covid-19 pandemic, people's economic activity began to improve. This also has an impact on reducing the risk of bad loans or the multi-finance industry's NPF which until last October was at the level of 3.89%. If you look at OJK data, the highest point of NPF is in May 2021, which is at the level of 4.05%. This achievement is because finance companies have taken steps to mitigate credit risk during the pandemic. OJK said that one of the efforts that had been made so far was to restructure the financing receivables of debtors affected by the pandemic. As of September 20, Riswinandi said that there had been 5.2 million restructured contracts with a value of Rp 214.72 trillion. The decline in NPF was also felt by several multi-finance companies such as CIMB Niaga Auto Finance (CNAF) which as of November 2021 stated that there was a decline of 19 bps to 1.2% when compared to the same period in 2020 of 1.39%. CIMB Niaga Auto Finance (CNAF) President Director Ristiawan Suherman said, the selection of customer segments in the sales acquisition process and increasing the principle of prudence in the scoring-based credit decision process resulted in a good portfolio that CNAF felt despite the current pandemic conditions. "After going through the pandemic period in the first wave in 2020 and the second wave in 2021, CNAF's concerns have begun to be controlled, although we remain vigilant," Ristiawan told kontan.co.id, Monday (6/12). Ristiawan explained that the government's excellent handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, coupled with the acceleration of good vaccinations, made CNAF's trust even higher. According to him, the NPF will remain at its current level and even smaller at the end of 2021, at least it will be maintained at the November figure, and is even trying to be better than the November figure. "Next year we are optimistic that we will be able to reduce the NPF figure to below 1%," said Ristiawan. Meanwhile, Ristiawan said, credit realization until November 2021 increased by 42.7% to IDR 4.84 trillion (yoy) compared to the same period in 2020 which was IDR 3.39 trillion. In maintaining NPF, the company implements a strategy by strengthening the scoring engine as the basis for making credit decisions and continues to socialize how to find good customer segments with a good KYC process as well as to the frontline/sales team during the customer acquisition process in front. Meanwhile, one of the financing companies, Clipan Finance, admitted that the NPF until November 2021 was still maintained at the 1% level.
